Front mudguards
A front mudguard stops what bothers you most: water and mud splashing into your face, onto your glasses and legs.
A short fork-mounted model catches most of the dirt from the bike, and it is the most frequently used off-road because it doesn't get in the way and is quick to attach. Longer year-round versions also protect your feet. After fitting, spin the wheel and check the clearance around the tyre, including the fork compression — rubbing is audible and will eventually wear through both the mudguard and the tyre.
