and strap bindings fit almost anything but are harder and slower to put on. That is exactly why crampons are bought after the boots and ideally tried on together. The number and shape of the points correspond to their use — horizontal ones grip better on firn and glaciers, whilst vertical ones penetrate hard ice better. Try putting them on at home and wearing gloves; there is rarely peace and quiet for it on the slope.
